Dr. Julie Taddeo, University of Maryland research professor of history, will present an assessment of the social, financial, and cultural characteristics of the Regency London Ton, the context for many significant events and relationships in Jane Austen’s novels. Dr. Taddeo lectures widely on Britain in the Georgian and Victorian eras and has published books on such topics as the Bloomsbury Group, Steampunk, and British period drama television.
